Buttermilk Boulder Clean-up and Evening Slideshow
On Saturday, April 18, please join the Friends of the Inyo and the Eastern Sierra Climbers Coalition for a day of fulfilling volunteer work and an evening of entertainment.
Buttermilk Cleanup 10am-1pm - Peabody Boulders, Buttermilk Country
The day will start with a morning of stewardship work around the famous Peabody boulders in Buttermilk Country. In partnership with the Access Fund and the Eastern Sierra Climbers Coalition, Friends of the Inyo will bring climbers and members of the community together to clean up trash and debris in the area, and to help limit the expansion of the network of trails between the boulders. The morning's work will run from 10am to 1pm; volunteers should meet at the "borrow pit" just south of the bouldering area, on Buttermilk Rd. 3.3 miles from Highway 168. Free refreshments will be provided for volunteers. For more information, contact Friends of the Inyo at 760-873-6500, or andrew@friendsoftheinyo.org.
Tales of the Tower 7:30pm -Mountain Light Gallery, Bishop

After spending a pleasant spring afternoon climbing, everyone is invited to the Mountain Light Gallery at 106 S. Main St. in Bishop to see and hear "Tales of the Tower," a presentation by Frank Sanders. A climbing guide, lodge owner and activist, Sanders will cover the geologic and social history of the famous Devils Tower in northeastern Wyoming, along with stories of his climbing adventures. Admission is free, although donations to Sanders non-profit organization, Devils Tower Sacred to Many People, are encouraged. The Eastern Sierra Climbers Coalition and Wilson's Eastside Sports will be sponsoring Free Beer for all morning volunteers who also attend the slideshow. For more information about the show, contact Zeke Federman at info@sierrarockclimbing.com or 760-937-6762.
