Enjoy frolicing through the Buttermilk, listening to bird songs and
following herds of mule deer? Then help us protect the wildlife of this
amazing area! Be a part of an ongoing effort to rebuild the
cattle-exclusion fence around the Buttermilk Wildlife Preserve. This
fence repair will allow the native vegetation that the deer and birds
and bugs depend upon for habitat to be restored to health. We will have
regular work days, so volunteer for one day, or all of them.
This work day will last from 9am-2pm and it will focus on removing old, brittle wire from the fence so that the fence can be re-strung with new wire at a future date. A warning: fence work is difficult and usually involves handling barbwire, so be prepared! Friends of the Inyo will provide work gloves, tools, and drinks; volunteers should bring their own lunch.
For this work day, we are requiring interested volunteers RSVP to Maria (maria@friendsoftheinyo.org or 760-873-6500).
