Member Rendezvous
After a busy summer, it's time to get together and celebrate! All Friends of the Inyo members, volunteers and partners are invited to a party in the woods, under the stars, next to the new Owens River Headwaters Wilderness.
What: Annual Celebration for Friends of the Inyo Members, Volunteers and Guests!
Where: Obsidian Group Campground, off Deadman Creek Rd north of Mammoth. From US 395 and State Highway 203 (Mammoth Lakes Junction) travel 8.2 miles north. Turn west onto Deadman Road and follow 3.2 miles to Upper Deadman Campground. Turn right at the Obsidian Flat Group Camp turnoff across the road. Continue straight ahead on Road 2S56 one mile to campground on the right.
When: Saturday, September 25; morning events start at 8:30 with the stewardship day at Glass Creek.
At 4 p.m. we'll host an informal membership meeting, followed by drinks and appetizers and dinner around 5pm. The fun will continue into the evening with a presentation by naturalist John Muir Laws, plus music by The Dysceltics and friends. We'll serve breakfast Sunday morning for campers.
Weekend warriors are welcome to camp Friday night, too--it's BYO dinner and breakfast.
Bring: Camping gear, warm layers, chairs, favorite drinks and snacks (though we'll have plenty to eat and drink).
RSVP: to cat@friendsoftheinyo.org or call (760) 873-6500.
