Route description: This route begins on the Coyote Flat at its northern junction with 07S10 (Picture 726002) and travels south toward Baker Creek for approximately 11 miles where it ends at its southern junction with 09S19 (Picture 726034).

Narrative Summary High to moderate use route with many spur routes off of it. Motorcycle, ATV, and full-size vehicle tracks. Sandy, rocky and steep in spots. Evidence of grazing, including troughs, cow prints, and scat. Route descent toward Big Pine and Baker Creek from ~ 10,000 feet as it parallels Onion Creek. This route intermittently crosses through a meadow for ~ 1 mile and periodically passes through Onion Creek and associated meadows and tributaries (Pictures 726005, 726012, 726014, 726015, 726016,726017,726018). Route gains elevation and passes through a burn area providing views of the White Mountains and Big Pine (Pictures 726022,726025). It again crosses through a meadow (Pictures 726023, 726024) and descends steeply through rocky and sandy terrain for miles (Pictures 726031, 726032, 726033). The route ends 50 feet from Baker Creek (Picture 726034). There is little to no vegetation in the center of the route. At the top, sagebrush, aspen and riparian vegetation are dominant (Picture 726011). Bitterbrush, mountain mahogany, manzanita, and rabbitbrush are dominant as the route descends (Pictures 726022, 726025). Wildflowers, including tiger lilies, lupine, columbine, monkshood and larkspur were plentiful in meadow. Coyote, song sparrows, green-tailed towhees, bushtits, spotted towhees, mourning cloaks, Behr's hairstreaks, a Melissa nlue, a western tiger swallowtail and a leopard lizard spotted.

Recommendation: This route should be included on the inventory because it gets a significant amount of use and provides access to the Coyote Plateau from Big Pine. However, there are a number of redundant and unnecessary spur routes that originate from T22. Management could work to restore these areas to their natural condition by removing the spur routes from the inventory (Picture 726003, 726006, 726008, 726009, 726010, 726014, 726021, 726027, 726029). In addition, re-routing possibilities should be considered for those sections of the route that cross through streams and meadows. For example, N2210 could be expanded to re-route T22 around a section of the route that passes through a meadow and riparian ecosystem (Picture 726013).
