This repeated attempt at closing this area has been somewhat ineffective. Some tracks head up through the locked gate, others through the red X to the right of the gate. Several other tracks join up with 01N22 using an alternate connector also fenced (photos 707033 and 707034). It appears that considerable effort has been made to close this route. Despite clear attempts at closure, some vehicles are still getting through, though none appear to be too recent. As this is the primary access point to the upper Mono Craters, and there is extensive proliferation at its terminus, (pictures 707015-707019) these efforts appear necessary.
