(green)USGS 7.5 Quad Inyo Recreation Map None yes no no Route Description: 1/4 mile spur route heads north off Crooked Creek southwest of Station Peak.
Narrative Summary: Low-use route in meadow (Picture 811002). Recent crushed riparian vegetation indicates recent travel by a full-sized vehicle though little evidence of consistent use is present. Entire route exits in meadow dominated by rushes and grasses. A low-use camp was found just before the end of the route (Picture 811003). This camp showed no sign of recent use and was itself in the meadow. The route ends in a standing pool of water several hundred feet north of the camp (Picture 811004).
Recommendations: This low-use route exists entirely in a meadow. The camp along the route shows little use and is in the meadow as well. This route should be restored to its natural conditions and removed from the inventory.

Route Description: Route heads north off Crooked Creek route (05S01) to Deep Springs Cow Camp 3/4 mile south of Station Peak then continues to the west of Station Peak.Narrative Summary: This high-use route heads north through the sagebrush with full-sized, ATV and motorbike tracks (Picture 811006). Center vegetation reaches 2' in sections and goes through a section dominated by rushes. The route crosses a small creek in a stable, 90 degree crossing where the creek is 4' 6" above the crossing, 5' 8" during the crossing, and 5' 9" below the crossing (Picture 811007). Creek is dominated by annual riparian vegetation including sedges, grasses, and rushes.
Beyond the crossing the route continues to Deep Springs Cow Camp, a recently used camp with two buildings, an outhouse, and corral (Picture 811009). Just beyond the cow camp is a temporary barrier consisting of cones and scraps of wood (Picture 811008). This barrier attempts to close the route just south of a meadow and no tracks were found beyond this barrier.
Recommendations: Barriers just beyond the cow camp should be replaced with permanent structures and signs. If decisions have been made to close this route beyond this barrier, the inventory should reflect this by not showing the route beyond this point.

Route Description: A narrow trail heading south off Crooked Creek, down Mill Canyon and to Wyman Canyon.Narrative Summary: This trail is barely distinguishable as it leaves the Crooked Creek route (05S01) and heads south (Picture 811010). Just south of the point where the route leaves 05S01, the route crosses Crooked Creek (Picture 811011). There appears to be no substantial effect of this crossing on the creek as the route does not show much use at all. South of the crossing the route quickly becomes difficult to follow through the sagebrush (Picture 811012).
At the south junction with Wyman Canyon, the junction is very difficult to find as is the route (Picture 812026). The route north of this junction follow along a wash in Mill Canyon and is difficult to distinguish from cattle trails in the area (Picture 812025).
Recommendations: This route is very difficult to find at both its north and south junctions with major routes. It should be removed from the inventory entirely.

(green)USGS 7.5 Quad Inyo Recreation Map None yes yes as 4WD no Route Description: Spur route heading north off Crooked Creek Route (05S01) across an open flat towards Cottonwood Creek.
Narrative Summary: This low-use route heads through low-growing sagebrush with only recent stock and cattle tracks. It leaves 05S01 just east of a maintained fence (Picture 811013) and heads north across rocky terrain (Picture 811014). As the route continues north the quality of the route and evidence of recent use decrease. By the time the route becomes N1910, it is difficult to follow and very rocky (Picture 811015). This route continues north into an otherwise roadless area as it drops towards springs just south of Cottonwood Creek (Picture 811016).
Recommendations: The primary concern is that the route is a spur that becomes hard to follow as it heads into an area with no other roads. This has the potential to invite route proliferation by confused and curious motorists. The route has no clear purpose, and should likely be removed from the inventory to prevent proliferation.

(green)USGS 7.5 Quad Inyo Recreation Map None yes yes no Route Description: Spur route dropping from Crooked Creek Route (05S01) down to Crooked Creek just east of Sage Hen Peak.
Narrative Summary: This low-use route descends a steep slope towards Crooked Creek. At the top of the slope a rock barrier and downed sign deterring 4x4 vehicles are found (Picture 811018 & 811019). Beyond the barrier and sign the route descends quickly down a very steep and rocky slope (Picture 811020). This route appears impassable for 4x4 vehicles as it is steep and somewhat narrow. Once the route reaches the bottom of the canyon, it heads south along Crooked Creek (Picture 811021). The route ends at a dilapidated mine house (Picture 811022). Trash, a water pump, irrigation piping, and other mining debris are in the area. No signs of recent use were found.
Recommendations: No recent use is apparent at the mine site, and the route steeply descends to run adjacent to a riparian area. There is potential for motorized users to attempt to connect this spur with other routes along the canyon and create unnecessary riparian damage. The barrier at the top of the route should be made permanent and the route should be removed from the inventory.
